He is Risen TODAY!
My kids were so excited waiting for the Easter Bunny to hide candy-filled baskets for them to find Easter morning! It was all about the anticipation. And the joy on their faces made all the planning worthwhile.
What else does Easter remind us to anticipate? What else are we to be joyful about?
God promises us everlasting life with Him, a promise that was fulfilled through the death and resurrection of His Son.
On Easter Sunday, we celebrate Jesus Christ’s resurrection, not just for this one time or one day, but for always and forever. He IS risen! Not “was” or “will be,” but “is.” Today and forevermore. He is with us always; we can trust and believe in that. He gives us strength, guides us, and loves us. Not just “someday” when we join him in everlasting life, but today and every day. Everlasting life begins NOW.
We can anticipate a time in the future, when we will be with our Lord in Heaven. But we can also be joyful about today, for He is with us.
~ The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14) ~
~ This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24) ~

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
